Popular pro-PAS newspaper Siasah (which has an online presence here) has a nice picture of a megamongous cardboard "statue" of PM Najib Razak in - of all places - Batu Caves.
It must be linked to his visit to the holy Hindu temple last Sunday - see stories here and here.
(Notice that S. Samy Vellu, the supposed Malaysian-Indian supremo, did not attend. A huge political statement by Najib).
The local media of course did not run any pic (shown here is the one in Siasah) to show that Najib, wearing his *fav orange shirt, is twice the height of Lord Murugan. Eeks.
(*To' Sri likes this orange baju - there are pictures of him wearing this baju when Dr Mahathir Mohamad met him at his house when he was newly-appointed PM, when Lee Kuan Yew met him, and when he went for a walkabout. Hensome).
The Siasah article asks how come when Anwar Ibrahim had a big cardboard cutout during Hari Raya a few years ago - see here - the mainstream media made a big deal of it - un-Islamic to have big patung/statue and all that. But on Najib's cutout, not a word.
Biasalah tu (Me speaking from a mainstream media's viewpoint in Temasek).
My caveat remains the same - I don't know if the megamongous patung of Najib at Batu Caves is true. But I like (if true)!

Now Siasah says the cutout has been removed.
For surelah has been taken down cos event on Sunday is over, else Hindus will be up in arms over this thing!
I wonder whether I could ask the organisers for this 'statue'.
I want to hang it outside my flat in Singapore to show I support 1Malaysia. Can or not?
