Najib offers stadiums for demos - very good!

As I wrote earlier, that the street protests by the opposition - on the pretext of being angry about the ISA yesterday - had caused troubles for shoppers and family gatherings.

I wrote that in a tiny country called Temasek, there is ZERO tolerance for street demos. If you really wanna do it, rent an indoor venue where you can shout yourself to death without disturbing others who don't care two hoots about your cause.

Of course, the problem with Malaysia is: police often have double standards. If Umno or pro-Umno groups want to do it, they say 'semuanya okay'.
If it was the opposition - and mind you the opposition have held huge rallies PEACEFULLY as has often been seen when police did NOT interefere - 'Tak boleh demo. Ini semua illegal. Tak ada permit. Boleh bawa huru hara'.

Now we have a middle of the road solution.
PM Najib Razak has offered stadiums for these gatherings, rather than causing havoc to the city and scaring away tourists and shoppers.
I hope the opposition leaders listen to this for the sake of the country. Before things come to a head and Malaysia becomes like Thailand Darul Demo, to the point that tourists are now too scared to come and the industry is collapsing.
Of course, Pak Najib's offer comes with a question from me: Who will pay to rent the stadium???
The government (ie taxpayers called engkau dan aku) or the opposition/protest organisers?

So how?
Somehow I sense that the hard-headed opposition will REJECT this. They want to be heroes of the streets, not pussies chanting Reformasi in stadiums.
Negara rosak imej tak apa, janji kita syiok tunjuk kerajaan kita kuat. That is the sense I get.
Bengap.

What's matter with you? What's the matter with Najib? Demos should not be held anywhere; they should not be held at all! In Malaysia, demos are not indicators of democracy, they are a passport to chaos, to anarchy. What is Najib thinking?
